Schizachyrium scoparium 'Standing Ovation'

from £9.00

Schizachyrium is a North American native, commonly found in prairies and open spaces across the whole United States. Commonly called Bluestem due to it’s blue colouring of the stems, ‘Standing Ovation’ is a relatively new cultivar with red tips to the blue stems. As a prairie native, it needs full sun and a well-drained soil to do well. It holds it’s colour well through winter and doesn’t fade to brown shades like a lot of coloured grasses. As it’s name suggests, it has an upright habit and reaches a height of 1.2m forming a clump of 50-60cm. Ready for sale May 2020. 2 litre.
